Oppu Nethili Karuvadu is a traditional salted and sun-dried anchovy fish, prepared using fresh nethili (anchovy) fish. The fish are carefully cleaned, salted, and naturally dried to preserve their flavor, texture, and nutritional value. This variety is well known for its mild saltiness and authentic coastal taste.
It is commonly used in nethili fry, karuvadu curry, poriyal, and spicy village-style gravies. Before cooking, it is usually washed and soaked briefly to reduce excess salt. Free from artificial preservatives, it offers long shelf life and rich traditional flavor.
