Suni Karuvadu, also known as dried shrimp, is a traditional coastal seafood prepared by naturally sun-drying fresh small shrimps. It has a rich aroma, crispy texture when fried, and a strong umami flavor that enhances many South Indian dishes.
This dried shrimp is widely used in thokku, podi, poriyal, chutney, and spicy gravies. Before cooking, it is usually rinsed and lightly soaked to remove excess salt. Free from artificial preservatives, it offers long shelf life and authentic taste.
